How can I offer a piece of jewellery for sale on MY TRIBE

You can offer a piece of jewellery for sale directly by :

  • filling in the appraisal form available on our website
  • sending us photos of your piece of jewellery by WhatsApp to +41 79 459 30 50

What items are accepted for sale

Rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, brooches, but also tiaras, piercing jewellery, ornaments, women watches and cufflinks.

Jewellery for women and/or men in yellow, white or pink gold; set with diamonds, pearls, precious and semi-precious stones.

Antique or contemporary jewellery from :

  • luxury jewellery houses (Cartier, Chopard, Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels, Pomelatto, Tiffany, Fred, and others)
  • designers (Stone Paris, Messika, H. Stern, and others)
  • unknown brands (vintage or unsigned)
  • iconic brands (Chanel, Dior, Hermès, and others)

We do not accept:

  • junk jewellery
  • items with deep scratches
  • damaged items or with a broken clasp
  • pieces with broken or missing stones

How is the jewellery appraised by MY TRIBE and offered for sale

  1. An initial examination is carried out on the basis of the photos sent via the online form or by WhatsApp. This includes a valuation by our expert but also an assessment of its attractiveness on the market.
  2. If your piece of jewellery is selected, a price offer is made.
  3. Once our offer has been validated, a consignment contract will be sent to you to formalise the sale, as well as a shipping label. MY TRIBE takes care of all the stages of the sale: appraisal, photography, listing the item, promotion, secure storage, relations with the buyers, sale, shipping and insurance.
    The expertise of the pieces of jewellery is carried out by Axel Respinger, a certified gemmologist with a long experience in the authentication of jewels.

How to ship my jewellery

In Switzerland, the jewellery industry uses the Swiss Post for all its shipments. This is the safest and most ecological solution.

MY TRIBE will send you a parcel with a prepaid label once the consignment contract has been signed.

Items below CHF 1500 are sent by registered post (signed consignment). Above this amount and up to CHF 5000, it is sent with the additional “insurance” service of the Swiss Post. For shipments over CHF 5000 in value, transport by a private carrier is organised.

MY TRIBE also travels in French-speaking Switzerland by appointment.
The shipping costs are at the seller’s expense and will be deducted from her/his payment at the time of the sale of her/his jewel.
Insurance costs are covered by MY TRIBE.

Only shipments within Switzerland are accepted.

Does MY TRIBE come to my home

In some cases, for example if you have a large number of jewellery items to sell or high value pieces, MY TRIBE can come to you within the French speaking part of Switzerland. Contact us by email at or by phone or WhatsApp at +41 79 459 30 50.

How is the jewellery insured and stored

In the event of loss, theft or damage to the jewellery, you (the seller) will receive the sale price as determined in the consignment contract.

The jewellery is stored in a secure vault.

How do you set the prices of the jewellery for sale

Our goal: to sell your jewellery at the best price for our common interest.
Thanks to our knowledge of the market, we set the fairest price.

We take into account the brand, the style, the condition of the piece, its desirability on the second-hand market and the value of the materials (gold and precious stones).

We have chosen the consignment-sale method to allow you to earn more than the direct purchase in cash practised by other players.

What commission does MY TRIBE receive on the sale of the jewellery

MY TRIBE offers a turnkey service with a commission of 25% of the agreed sale price. 75% of the agreed sale price goes to you!

Our commission finances the appraisal of the jewellery, the photography, the online publishing, the promotion and secure storage, the relationship with the buyers, the sale as well as the insurance.

In addition, MY TRIBE donates 2% of its income to an association.

Who is responsible for putting my jewellery online and when is it done

Once the appraisal, the photographs and the description have been finalised, MY TRIBE will put the jewel online within 10 working days of receiving the pieces. This operation is entirely taken care of by MY TRIBE.

When and how do I get paid, once my jewel is sold

The payment is made after the 5 days deadline granted to the buyer to return the item and within a maximum of 30 working days following the buyer’s payment.
You will then have two options:

  • Use your income directly to purchase a piece of jewellery on sale on the MY TRIBE website by taking advantage of a 10% discount code (our gift)
  • Receive a transfer to your bank account.

What happens if my jewel entrusted to MY TRIBE remains unsold

If your jewel has not been sold within 180 days of being placed online, we will offer you a revised selling price, which you are free to approve or reject. The jewel will be put back on sale for another 120 days or will be returned to you.

Jewellery that has not been sold after 300 days will be returned to you – you can collect it or let MY TRIBE send it back to you.

Can I withdraw a piece that I have entrusted to MY TRIBE from the sale

MY TRIBE is given 180 days to find a buyer for the product offered for sale by the seller.

If you (the seller) wish to collect your product before this deadline, you must request this from The withdrawal request is subject to an administration fee of CHF 100 per item collected early. The seller has the option of collecting the jewellery she/he wishes to withdraw from the sale her/himself, or MY TRIBE will return it at the seller’s expense.

In which countries can jewellery be sold through MY TRIBE

MY TRIBE has been developed to offer a solution for the sale and purchase of second-hand jewellery for the Swiss market. Shipping is only possible within Switzerland.
